Accomplished and skilled executive possessing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, a Master of Business Administration, and considerable experience driving differentiated specialty chemical businesses. 

Passion for chemistry that led to a career evolving from technical sales to marketing and sales management to business segment P&L responsibility to company leadership. Career included both multi-billion dollar integrated global specialty chemical companies as well as privately held regional specialty chemical companies. P&L responsibility for $100 million business segments delivering EBIT in excess of $15 million annually to small company launch and leadership delivering revenue growth from $5 million to $20 million with 4X EBITDA growth. 

Chemistry core competency in ethoxylates and propoxylates (nonionic surfactants), ethyleneamines, fatty amines, amides, esters, castor oil derivatives including sebacic acid, ricinoleic acid, 12-hydroxy stearic acid, and methyl 12-hydroxy stearate as well as other oleochemical feedstocks.

Cognizant of the criticality of supply chain integrity, product management, technology differentiation, quality, safety, sales, marketing, human resource, and financial management. Experience with captive and 3rd party manufacturing, and the execution of sales, procurement, and 3rd party manufacturing contracts.

Attentive to what motivates co-workers in varying disciplines to collaborate in the pursuit of company and individual performance objectives while at the same time advancing and expanding employee skill sets.

Most recently conceptualized business synergies, identified, approached, and secured strategic buyers for two high performing modestly sized specialty chemical companies, harvesting those businesses on behalf of the ownership group and closing on both transactions in 2021. Successfully concluded a 15 month assignment in October, 2022 in support of the integration of one of those acquired companies.  

Provided input for a feature article in C&E News released on October 21, 2024 outlining initiatives underway at the U.S. Department of Defense to establish domestic production of critical chemical raw materials, one of which is sebacic acid, a feedstock that is derivatized further into an ester for use as an ingredient in a U.S. Navy formulated torpedo propellant.
